Practitioner Profiles

Robert, Analyst

Robert joined Pace Harmon immediately upon graduating from the University of Virginia in 2005 with a bachelor's degree (with distinction) in Foreign Affairs and Economics as well as a minor in Physics. Since joining Pace Harmon, he has worked on projects ranging from sourcing strategy to process reengineering. Having written his undergraduate thesis on the implications of economic liberalization on democratization and having been an Intel Science Talent Search semifinalist for his work in theoretical physics, he has found that working at Pace Harmon has allowed him to satisfy both his deep interest in strategic thinking as well as his passion for technical analytics.

What I Like About Pace Harmon
"Pace Harmon combines the maturity of a Big 4 consulting firm and the ambitions of a start up without compromising its intimate culture. Few firms can offer a work place that is entrepreneurial, has the closeness of a family, and has a stable of experience all in one package. The most enjoyable part of the day is working directly with decision makers of Fortune 500 companies and knowing that the decisions you help to make have impact immediately. Pace Harmon offers exciting opportunities for consultants to jump right in and work directly with senior clients to make decisions that affect the course of major corporations.

The Kind of Work I Do
"After graduating college, my first year at Pace Harmon was one filled with a variety of experiences that have both been exciting and allowed me to soak in learning opportunities from the business world. From helping integrate a program management organization after the merger of two Fortune 500 companies, to sitting in on the vendor negotiations of a multi-hundred million dollar sourcing deal, my first year has provided opportunities to see how business works from the top down"

A Typical Day at Pace Harmon
"My most exciting project so far at Pace Harmon was being able to work on a major sourcing deal involving the consolidation of several business critical systems of a Fortune 500 corporation in a post-merger environment. The intricacies of working on a major sourcing deal, complicated by the considerations of two merging corporations, combined to create an exciting and unique learning experience."
