Why I Joined Pace Harmon
“I’ve worked with a number of large and small consumer goods firms in a number of operational roles. Most recently, I was the head of contract manufacturing for a “maquila” in Juarez, Mexico. I joined Pace Harmon because I’ve always been interested in broadening my sourcing knowledge. I find sourcing to be very dynamic and engaging– especially in today’s environment where more and more companies are outsourcing a number of their non-core processes.
The chance to expand my sourcing know-how and the opportunity to work with very high caliber people make Pace Harmon a very compelling place to work.”
What I Like About Pace Harmon
"One of the drawbacks that I experienced working for a large multinational firm is that, sometimes, it is difficult to see the tangible results of a project I have worked on. This is due to a variety of factors: changing priorities, communication encumbered by a big structure, etc. The ability to drive results—as opposed to merely providing advice—is truly one of the firm’s major differentiators. You get to see if your proposals work (or not!).
Working for Pace Harmon has been a very liberating experience. I am pleased with the empowerment my job provides, the high premium placed on continuing education, and the efficient communication not burdened by excessive bureaucracy."
The Kind of Work I Do
“I mainly focus on strategic sourcing and supply chain. I am currently working on an initiative that seeks to improve a client’s existing category management—from sourcing to supplier performance management. The client faced increasing pressures to deliver results, giving us the opportunity to improve its category management by applying a number of industry best practices.”
"I was involved in a strategic sourcing and project management engagement with a major medical devices manufacturer. This particular organization was undergoing a massive facility expansion due to an ever-increasing demand for its products. Due to its urgent nature, the facility needed to compress the typical expansion duration by 50%. Pace Harmon, together with key company stakeholders, have successfully managed the procurement of all required capital, sundry materials, and services within the allotted time and budget thus ensuring the project's timely completion."
